JR. NBA World Championship 2018
The 6th Boro Way
Our philosophy is simple, teach the players how to read and play the game without set-plays. This methodology is practiced from the very first day they step on the court in a 6th Boro Hoops uniform. The goal is to help our players become thinkers on the court, thinkers that will be able to figure out any situation in the game. Much of our curriculum is based off the teachings of European basketball academies.
Beyond our tactical ideas, all 6th Boro Hoop’s coaches are dedicated to creating a positive environment for players of all ages. We believe that only in a supportive and positive environment can a player reach the height of their potential.
The success of our philosophy on the court has been noted on the world stage as we were the very first Northeast Regional JR. NBA Champion that competed at the world championship on national television in 2018. Our 8th grade boys team finished as a top 4 team in the world.
The ultimate goal of playing for 6th Boro Hoops is to learn what it means to be a part of a team that works more for just a win on the court. Our success is in preparing our boys and girls for college. We put our high school teams in front of hundreds of coaches each spring and summer, ensuring they have a great chance of recruitment.
We have over 50 players currently playing in college at various levels. Our success is not in wins or losses, but rather how we have given our players the tools to succeed at the next level.
